Updated 12th March 2025

We are excited to announce the latest enhancements and fixes to Autofly with V125. These updates improve performance, user experience, and overall system reliability. Here’s what’s new:

General Updates

  1. Custom User Comment Feature: Implemented a feature allowing users to add custom comments ( to the image Exif Data) to any images taken while the comment function is enabled. This may be used for "Asset ID", additional context or faults such as "broken", "damaged" or "to review". Free text and also pre filled options are supported.
  2. Flight Path Resumption Suggestion: Implemented a suggestion popup to resume flight path. This popup appears the first time Autofly is opened and after landing & reconnecting the drone if an unfinished task from the previous flight is detected. If dismissed, a button remains on the screen to reopen the popup until a task or mission is launched.
  3. Missions Loading by Pages: Improved performance and efficiency by allowing missions to load in a paginated format.
  4. Assigned Tasks Loading by Pages: Optimized task management by introducing paginated loading for assigned tasks.
  5. Fixed RC to Drone Telemetry Position & Size: Resolved issues with the remote controller telemetry display, ensuring correct positioning and proper scaling.

Media & Synchronization

  1. 4G Dongle Support Added (v122): Users can now enable 4G dongle connectivity via the top widget, similar to DJI Pilot.
  2. Fixed Sync Button Display in SD Sync Screen (v121): The sync button is now hidden when no SD card is present, preventing attempts to sync internal files.
  3. Improved SD Card Sync Detection (v121): Autofly now listens for SD card mount/unmount events and updates the sync summary dynamically.

Telemetry & UI Enhancements

  1. Added RC to Drone Lateral Distance in Telemetry View (v121): New telemetry metric to display lateral distance from the RC to the drone, toggleable in the left menu.
  2. Fixed Status Bar Swipe Issue on Android 11 (DJI RC Plus 2) (v121): Prevented unintended status bar interactions when touching near screen edges.
  3. Fixed Incorrect Map Popups Positioning (v121): Addressed an issue where waypoint and home point popups displayed incorrectly.
  4. Support for Atlas Color Parameter (v120): Added support for configuring color parameters in Atlas.

Performance & Stability Improvements

  1. Company Loading Fix for Low-Connection Scenarios (v122): Resolved an issue that prevented jobs/tasks from displaying in the left drawer when network conditions were poor.
  2. Fixes to Sentry Crashes (v122): Addressed stability issues that were causing application crashes.
  3. Fixed Crash Related to Auto Update Card in Devices Screen (v121): Resolved memory-related crashes affecting the update card.
  4. Fixed ANR Issue Reported from Sentry (v121): Improved performance and responsiveness to prevent app freezes.

Mission & Task Enhancements

  1. Fixed Remote Cockpit Mission Selection Issue (v121): Resolved a bug where selecting a Waypoint mission in Remote Cockpit was incorrectly handled as an SI mission if an SI mission was previously selected.
  2. Fix for Last Waypoint Media Metadata (v120): Resolved an issue where the last waypoint media metadata wasn’t being saved if executed after mission completion.
  3. Support for GeoJSON Field in Task Context (v119): Added support for GeoJSON formatting within task contexts for enhanced mapping and data structuring.

Device & System Enhancements

  1. Fix for Auto Update from Devices Screen (v119): Ensured smoother auto-updates without errors from the devices screen.
  2. Automatic APK Cleanup After Updates (v119): The app now automatically removes the APK installation file after an auto-update. Additionally, all older APKs stored in app memory are now cleaned up.
