New Features

Aside from our usual continuous improvements to workflows in the office and field, we have added flight tasks as a way to pre-plan flights before manually executing in the field, as well as Turbine task types to speed up the capture and report generation for Wind Turbine Farms.

Jobs and tasks can be sorted by proximity, making it much quicker to select and begin the next task when out in the field. Increased obstacle avoidance has been added (for supported drone models) with both visual and audio cues.

Additional new features include:

1. Maps - Improved app performance by clustering large Atlas layers’ map markers and removing unnecessary GeoJSON properties
2. Maps - Improved Atlas layers view to show which layers are stored or downloaded, as well as showing file size and clearer folder UI
3. Flight logs - Enhanced flight log capabilities, showing which items are uploaded or scheduled to be uploaded, with option to ‘Sync All’
4. Maps - Optimized layer loading by filtering out repeat manual requests for the same layer
5. Jobs & Tasks - Added support for flight tasks, showing them in the jobs list and different colours based on status
6. Jobs & Tasks - Added long-press to change marker statuses
7. Telemetry - Added transparent background behind telemetry to improve visibility
8. Media & Upload - Added visibility of upload or scheduled to upload status of media
9. Drone settings - Added options to control home point based on RC position, control drone LEDs
10. Maps - Long press map to add home point
11. Maps - Adjust relative position of home and drone icons on map when panned
12. Missions - Show battery state while in mission mode
13. Maps - Improve map performance by reducing repeat map interactions
14. Camera view - Show home point direction when drone is > 10m from home point
15. Media & Upload - Improved loading of thumbnails when checking sessions
16. Camera view - Added option to restart video feed rendering
17. Remote Access - Selector always in minimised mode and updated UI
18. General - Show app version in the devices view
19. Maps - Added Hybrid map view and made default
20. Missions - Improved import by handling all action parameters in all types of missions
21. Jobs & Tasks - Added sorting of jobs and tasks by proximity to user location
22. Maps - Improved zoom and padding of map view when viewing missions
23. Maps - Show distances between waypoints and tasks and survey missions on the map
24. Media & Upload - Show image count and remaining video record time
25. Remote Access - Added remote joystick control
26. General - More meaningful error messages at login (e.g. if due to lack of internet connectivity)
27. Obstacle Avoidance - Added audio and visual cues for proximity to objects (for supported drone models), and reduced opacity to block less of the camera view
28. Camera view - Updated buttons for exposure, focus and zoom control to match the rest of the UI
29. Jobs & Tasks - Smart Inspect profiles can be assigned to a task for execution at wind farms. This specific task type allows for selection of the blade and side being captured, allowing for automated reporting in Cloud
30. General - “Slide to confirm” replaced with “Hold to confirm” with 700ms hold duration
31. General - Added UI settings where user can specify fullscreen button visibility, top panel visibility, and home indicator on video visibility
32. Missions - Add long press to mission button to show mission screen, and button state updated while missions are executing
33. General - Added new actions “Fullscreen Toggle” and “Mission Start/Stop” to RC button mapping

Bug fixes

• Maps - Atlas assets are refreshed when changing user or team
• Jobs & Tasks - Flight task statuses and task markers have different UI to differentiate between them
• Maps - Removed home point and user location icons from clustering
• Maps - Fixed GeoJSON line rendering
• Maps - Corrected overlap order of drone icon, home and user icons, waypoint icons and then layers
• Maps - Fixed issue loading layers with special characters
• Auth - Fixed crash when internet connection isn’t stable
• Auth - Removed early display of caching error after login
• Flight logs - Fine-tuned timing and logic of when flight logs are sent between app start, restore and drone landing
• Camera - Fixed thermal split mode scale type when changing video size feed
• Camera - Video feed no longer overlaps left drawer or other views
• Missions - Fixed issue when startMission fails and starting next mission will start executing failed mission
• Media and upload - Fixed issue where team switch caused problems with uploading to incorrect device ID
• Camera - Fix to home indicator on the video feed to show current state
• Jobs & Tasks - Fixed caching to match other app cache behaviours
• Media & Upload - Fixed issue where some files did not start sync, and improved logic to determine sync’ed/not sync’ed
• Media & Upload - Handle removal of SD card and do not update sync status
