As a Technical Sales Specialist, you’ll be working directly with some of our largest enterprise clients who are already using Orb. You’ll focus on building trust, uncovering opportunities for upsell and cross-sell, and enabling customers to get the most value from our solutions. This isn’t your typical sales role—you’ll also be hands-on with technical delivery, collaborating across teams, and stepping into the field when needed.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about technology, thrives on problem-solving, and has strong sales acumen.

Education and work experience

Must have

  • Strong hands-on experience with drones, particularly DJI enterprise platforms (e.g., Matrice series like M300 RTK or M30T).

  • Knowledge of DJI software (e.g., DJI Pilot 2, DJI Terra) and familiarity with payloads like LiDAR, thermal cameras (e.g., Zenmuse XT2, H20T), and RGB cameras.

  • Familiarity with flight planning tools like DroneDeploy or Pix4D and post-flight platforms such as Pix4D Mapper or ArcGIS.

  • Remote Pilot License (REPL) for commercial drone operations.

  • Understanding of drone workflows in industries like energy and renewables (e.g., wind farms, solar panel inspections).

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an enterprise Sales or Customer Success role.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with DJI SDKs (Mobile SDK, Payload SDK, or Cloud API).

  • Experience working with cloud services like AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, SageMaker).

  • A basic understanding of AI and computer vision applications, especially for real-time video analytics.

  • Industry knowledge in renewables, utilities, or transport.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Build strong relationships with enterprise clients and identify ways to expand their use of Orb.

  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and show them what’s possible with our solutions.

  • Develop statements of work, guide technical discussions, and support contract negotiations.

  • Lead technical demos and presentations to highlight how our drone-based solutions work.

  • Support tenders and create detailed technical proposals to meet client goals.

  • Collaborate with teams like Product, Customer Success, and Engineering to ensure client success and provide feedback for improvements.

  • Be out in the field with clients when needed, supporting deployments and gathering insights.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends in drones, AI, and cloud technologies to help guide your work.
