As we grow rapidly, we’re looking for a Solutions Engineer who brings deep technical knowledge and a passion for working directly with customers. This role is pivotal in pre-sales, deployment, and ongoing technical success
As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll be working directly with some of our largest enterprise clients who are already using Orb. You’ll focus on building trust, uncovering opportunities for upsell and cross-sell, and enabling customers to get the most value from our solutions. This isn’t your typical sales role—you’ll also be hands-on with technical delivery, collaborating across teams, and stepping into the field when needed.
You’ll serve as the technical contact for our customers across the full lifecycle—from solution design through implementation to ongoing expansion. You’ll also be hands-on with technical delivery, collaborating across teams, and stepping into the field when needed.
This includes:
Engage directly with customers to understand their operational workflows and align technical solutions.
Lead technical product demonstrations, technical workshops, and proof-of-concepts for new and existing clients.
Support sales cycles by scoping requirements, preparing solution proposals, and contributing to RFP responses.
Collaborate with Customer Success and Product teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term success.
Translate complex requirements into actionable workflows using Orb’s AI, drone capture, and data processing capabilities.
Provide hands-on support in the field for solution validation, training, and feedback loops.
Stay current with trends in UAV operations, AI video analytics, and cloud architecture to guide solution design.
Stay ahead of industry trends in drones, AI, and cloud technologies to help guide your work.
You have a passion for innovation, a customer-first mindset, and strong technical fluency in UAV and data-centric solutions.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in technical sales, pre-sales, solutions engineering, or customer success.
Strong knowledge of UAV operations, platforms, and payloads—including multirotor and fixed-wing systems.
Hands-on experience with DJI enterprise platform, payloads and Software
Familiarity with mission planning software, ground control stations, and post-processing tools (e.g., DroneDeploy, Pix4D, QGIS, ArcGIS).
Practical understanding of UAV workflows in sectors like energy, utilities, or infrastructure inspection.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to technical and executive stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to deployments and troubleshooting.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience
Remote Pilot License (REPL) or equivalent certification for commercial drone operations.
Experience with video analytics, photogrammetry, or computer vision workflows.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and API-based integrations.
Industry background in renewables, oil and gas, transport, or government infrastructure
Familiarity with DJI SDKs (Mobile SDK, Payload SDK, or Cloud API).
